Built around real problems
123sudo began with practical web utilities built to make common digital tasks less frustrating.
Over time, that work grew into a suite of cross-platform apps for people who want straightforward tools without unnecessary clutter. We build for the moments where technology should be simple:
- You need a file in a different format.
- You need to save media you are allowed to download.
- You need AI tools without constantly moving context between products.
- You need to get something done without creating another account or learning another complicated workflow.
The goal is not to add more software to someone's day. It is to remove friction from work they already need to do.
Privacy is part of the product
Privacy is not a checkbox added at the end of development. It affects how we design our apps from the beginning.
Our products use a 123sudo UID instead of requiring a traditional email-based account for basic access. We avoid collecting personal information that is not needed to provide the service, and we aim to keep people in control of their files, workflows, and data.
For a product like 9xconvert, that also means processing files locally on your own device instead of uploading them to a remote server. The file never leaves the machine, so there is nothing to retain and nothing to leak.
Tools for the devices people use
Useful software should not depend on one operating system.
123sudo apps run on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, depending on the product, so people can use the same tools where they work. We want the product to fit into your workflow, not force you to change how you work.
The products we are building
9xbuddy
9xbuddy is a desktop media downloader for supported pages and sources. It reads a page and shows the video, audio, image and subtitle formats that source actually makes available — one item, a pasted batch, an imported list, or a playlist.
9xconvert
9xconvert converts and edits video, audio, images, GIFs, subtitles and documents locally. Files stay on your device, which means no upload wait and no server-side size limit.
9xchat
9xchat is a private, agentic AI workspace for people tired of switching between disconnected AI tools. Chat, notes, images, agents and prompts sit side by side, with persistent memory and live tools — and you choose whether a request runs against a cloud model, your own API key, or a model running on your own machine.
What comes next
We are continuing to build around practical creative and digital workflows.
That means improving the products people already use, listening to real frustrations, and releasing new tools only when they solve a clear problem well.
We are a small team, and that is deliberate. It keeps us close to the work, close to user feedback, and focused on making products useful rather than noisy.
What you will find here
This is the first post on the 123sudo blog, so it is worth saying what the blog is for.
Expect three kinds of writing: announcements when something ships, practical guides for workflows that are hard to discover on your own, and honest notes on why a product works the way it does — including the trade-offs we accepted and the ones we are still arguing about.
What you will not find here is documentation. The docs are the reference: how a setting behaves, what a menu does, why an export failed. They are kept current and precise, and this blog will link to them constantly rather than repeat them a little worse.
